On Friday morning I met with Carlton Weathers (pastor of Grace Fellowship Community Church) and Bob St. John (pastor of Anniston Bible Church). The purpose of our meeting was to plan and prepare the official commissioning service of Redeemer Church Oxford. As most of you know, Redeemer is being planted as a joint-Gospel-effort of these two sister churches. Because we believe the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation, our four primary goals for this service are: 1) to display our unity in the Gospel, 2) to commission Redeemer to the work of Gospel ministry in Oxford, 3) to preach the powerful Gospel, and 4) to expose the ministry of Redeemer Church to the community. This service will include singing, preaching, praying, commissioning, and fellowship. Everyone in the community is invited to attend. It will start at 6:00pm at 365 Davis Loop, Oxford, AL 36203 (across the street from Mellow Mushroom).
